An exceptional archive of visual material relating to the U.S. Government's drive during the Second World War to drastically reduce the instances of venereal diseases. This archive contains more than ten different images (many in multiple copies, and some in different formats) all warning about the dangers of various sexually transmitted diseases, how to avoid them, how to treat them, etc. The government project against VD also included training programs, films and other publications. Some of the posters in this lot appear in comic strip form, while the majority are accomplished photomontages and graphics that appear almost European in their sophistication. While many are unsigned, names that appear on some are Karsakov, Ferrer, and Fellnagel.
